The Belarusian State Academy of Music is the only university-type higher musical educational institution in the Republic of Belarus. Founded in 1932, today the BSAM is a major educational centre, which includes 5 departments, and Mogilev branch of the Academy. The Academy of Music provides professional music training at the first stage of higher education at 22 divisions covering 13 specialties (27 subspecialities). Further training of professional musicians is carried out on the second stage of higher education (under the Master Degree Programs). A variety of additional education programs for adults is implemented at the Advanced Training and Retraining Department, and also at the Preparatory Division.
